Our School Profile
The first Winnipeg Beach School was situated over the Robinson
store. The actual first school building was constructed in 1906 at the corners
of Gimli Road and Robinson Avenue. In 1929 two additions (18 feet on each
end of the school) were built, with electricity being added in 1940. A new
two story school was completed in 1949 which “included fire escapes
and concrete walls”.
The present Winnipeg Beach School opened its doors in 1999
and currently operates from Kindergarten to Grade Seven. The library, music
room and gymnasium are part of the old building, with the wing housing the
classrooms being all new construction.
We have certainly come a long way from the “ice blocks
for water and coal for heat” days.
The enrollment at Winnipeg beach School is currently 158
students with 21 staff members.
