Winnipeg Beach School PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Adams, Mel Weidl, Kristine Maisy, 1.0 PAC Meeting called to order at 7:04 p.m. 2.0 Agenda motioned by Brenda, seconded by Mel. Approved 3.0 Minutes motioned by Trisha, seconded by Kristine. Approved. 4.0 OLD BUSINESS · Campbell labels - Mel is continuing to get info sent out to her. We are registered, start saving labels now, out into the community and maybe get everyone involved. Will need to roll over till next year as we are already into Feb and have not received any papers to advertise. Needs to get put into the newsletter as well. · Operation Red nose... waiting for provincial pool. 1500$ still coming mid March. Possibly need to get a 10 grand grant to put in the nets. Division will pay for one and elsewhere needs to pay for the rest. · Website needs to get going with updates. Mr Moore needs to get a link for PAC and the minutes.

Pizza day
was a success... suggest freezies or something for EVERYONE once a month.
Had over bought pizzas by 2 boxes. · Questions asked again by how Gimli can have hot lunch days and we are unable to... apparently they do it by not selling once a month.??

Donations
for breakfast program put together already roughly 1800$ /yr from the
community. Hydro willing to donate to the 1800$ · Treat day for an early dismissal day in March tabled till next meeting. · Had a presentation from donelli for a fundraiser. Variety of products this needs to be discussed further. · Talk of possibly purchasing globes for the classes. Start with K-4 one month and then maybe do the 5-7 the following month. · Outdoor activities? There's nothing for the kids to do. Also for when there is indoor recess, nothing much for them to do also.

Recording
system in roughly 3000$ agreed from band boosters for their share. We will
only match band boosters’ price.

Netbook
fundraiser. Will do closer to the end of the school year into summer to
try and get a larger cliental. Aim for maybe June. · Brian tribute... unfort. This cannot be done through PAC and as parents we could donate to cause.

V day
dance was a huge success. Unfort. There were not enough parents that were
supposed to stay.. 5.0 TREASURER’S REPORT
6.0 PRINCIPAL’S REPORT · Smart boards have come however not all fully set up. within the next few years hopefully all classes will have · Hoops in during spring break. Division also helped with this.

new Gym
floor has been put in for capital. Considering putting the mascot into
the floor instead of on the wall.

The
fundraiser for the school was a success. the sales were nearing 6000$
mark and they would receive about 30-40% of that.

Having a
parental survey come out soon regarding the school time change and how the
school is being ran and how they are doing. 7.0 NEW BUSINESS · Constitution, agenda, mins need to go on the website. · Protocol for school who reports to who and all the school procedures.. go to divisional website to see this

of occupational therapist... is there one in the school. There is someone
who comes in and ea's get one on one training .

FUNDRAISING ideas- lollipops, change drive, there was also a book for
different items that was shown. green house plants,

Pancakse
