Located near the shores of beautiful Lake Winnipeg, Riverton is just a short drive south of Hecla and Grindstone Provincial Parks, which are under the jurisdiction of the Manitoba Department of Natural Resources.

Hecla Island was named after one of the most famous landmarks in Iceland, the volcano Mount Hekla. Today, Hecla Island is the hub of activity in this year-round natural playground.
