Manitoba Education Citizenship and Youth requires each school in Manitoba to submit a School Plan by the end of October of each year. The school plan should include general goals, with specific outcomes and strategies to achieve the goal. The school plan is reported on to parents and community in the annual report each school releases to the public in the spring.

Student Achievement Results at DGJS

Our school has several assessment programs in place. Ongoing formative assessment is used to track general student progress on a longitudinal basis, as well as identify the specific learning needs and accomplishments of individual students. In addition, year end assessments are used to provide external accountability.

At DGJS our focus on achievement is in the areas of reading and mathematics. In these areas our school posted the following results in the 2010/11 school year:

91% of students read AT or ABOVE grade level

85% of students meet MOST outcomes in mathematics
