The Dr. George Johnson Middle School is part of Evergreen School Division, located along the western shores of Lake Winnipeg in Gimli, Manitoba Canada. We are a Grade 5-8 school of approximately 225 students. Our school is named after a famous resident of Gimli, the Honorable Dr. George Johnson, who in 1986 was appointed Manitoba's 20th Lieutenant Governor, the first person of Icelandic descent so honored; subsequently he was the recipient of many other outstanding honors; including the Order of Canada - our highest civilian honor.
